The Christian Education (CE) program aims to build the biblical and doctrinal foundation of our members, teach application of Christian truths in the context of family, work and other life situations and train members in ministry skills.

CE's priority this year is on learning the Word of God – to challenge members to “study” to show themselves “approved of God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth”. (2 Tim.2:15, KJV). The aim is that we will be discipled by the Living Word (2 Tim.3:16).

Courses have been designed to suit the varying maturity levels of members. Level 1 courses, such as Old Testament survey and New Testament survey, are planned with new believers in mind; Level 2 courses, covering biblical book studies, are designed for growing Christians and leaders; and Level 3 courses (circuit training) are tailored specifically to equip/develop leaders.

Training schedules take on the following rhythm:

Saturday (day)       Christian Living / Spiritual Discipline / Ministry Skills / Membership class

Sunday (morning)    Know The Word Class/ Biblical Studies / Membership class

Captured under Christian Education Courses are the synopses of courses on a quarterly basis. Let us avail ourselves of these learning opportunities - to study and love the Word, to be rooted in the Word and be transformed by the Word, thereby reflecting the likeness of Christ in our daily lives (Col. 1:28).

Know The Word Bible Class

Sundays, 10:00 am - 11:00 am @ Bethel Auditorium (unless otherwise stated in the bulletin)

A BIBLE CLASS FOR ALL

Do you have a desire to know and apply the Word of God for daily living, but have found it difficult to come for CE classes on a weekday night?

This class will be ideal for you as it is meant for those who believe that they need a stronger foundation in the Word of God and would like a systematic, stress - free study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

This is a systematic book by book study of the Bible on a Sunday morning by experienced instructors and facilitators. In the first half of 2012, KTW will focus on the Books of Ephesians to Jude. There will be group discussion time after some of the lessons. There is also a concurrent ‘Know the Word’ Children's track at Conference Room (B405). The aim of KTW is Bible literacy and to help our members go deeper in the Word.

About Discipleship Forums:
We at SJSM are seeking to be a “community of disciples” for the glory of God and the extension of His Kingdom.

These “Discipleship Forums” are designed to challenge us and to help us work out practically what it means to follow Jesus in every corner of our lives. We want to do so, for love of Christ, both personally as a Christian and collectively as a Church.

Hence, from time to time, usually on the 4th Sunday of a particular month, we host a Discipleship Forum to tackle a particular topic or issue so that we might live life at its best as disciples of Jesus and be found faithful by our God and King. The Forums are an hour-long (10 – 11 am), in-between our Sunday services, and include a talk/testimony followed by a Q & A session.
