WHO WE ARE:

We are a cluster of cell groups, each comprising a majority of Young Adults. We define a "Young Adult" as someone above the age of 18 and below the life-stage of becoming a parent (i.e. having their first child).

WHEN AND HOW WE MEET:

The cells meet centrally in SJSM premises (usually in Shalom hall). The typical evening begins with combined praise and adoration, followed either by some centralized teaching, and/or some breakout time where the cells meet for bible study and prayer. Light refreshments are typically provided for each meeting. CYAN meets as two sub-groups. The timings of the groups are as follows: Saturday Evenings (7:30-10:00pm) – mainly tertiary students and NSmen Wednesday evenings (8:00 – 10:30 pm) – mainly young working adults

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Other than the regular weekly meetings, additional activities include:

  • An annual retreat.
  • Facilitating mission trips by our members to various mission stations that have been adopted by CYAN.
  • Regular gatherings for sports, games, or simply good food.

CYAN’s AIMs:

CYAN uses four ‘B’s to identify its core aims:

  1. Building – Seeking to develop and disciple its members such that they are mature in Christ
  2. Bonding – Developing authentic and lasting friendships within the community; That CYAN would be a community which demonstrates authentic love and care for its members.
  3. Broadening - Equipping its members with relevant life skills as they enter into new phases of life.
  4. Blessing – Providing platforms for service, and encouraging our young adults to be a blessing to those with whom they come into contact.
